For all you cocktail drinkers out there, it is important to not only love what you’re drinking, but to know what you’re drinking, as well! I always love trying new and creative cocktails and learning how they are made. Some of the best cocktails come from classic recipes with a twist. A simple, yet delicious cocktail is the Old-Fashioned. This cocktail originated in the late 1800s and by the 1960s, it was considered an unusual drink to request at a bar. Alas, it has made it’s way back to mainstream and we are sure happy about it. Broken Shed Vodka, which originated in New Zealand, puts their own twist on this classic drink by subbing the usual bourbon or whiskey for vodka. Try out their recipe below and let us know what you think!
- 3 oz. Broken Shed vodka
- 3 dash bitters
- 1 sugar cube
- Zest of lemon/orange/grapefruit
- Garnish- flamed or not
In glass, add sugar cube with bitters and few slices of zest, add 3 oz vodka and 4 cubes ice. Stir for 10-15 seconds. Garnish.
