A few weeks ago, I was invited to Brother Jimmy’s (Union Square location) for their Dessert Bash where I’d be getting a preview of their new desserts. Of course, since I was able to bring a guest, Jason came along with me.
If you read my post about my experience at Brother Jimmy’s in New Brunswick. NJ you know I loved it, so I was incredibly excited for this and the desserts did not disappoint. When we arrived, we were greeted and asked what dessert cocktail we’d like to drink. I got the Cherry Rhubarb Pie Float which was delicious, not too strong and enjoyable. It’s perfect to drink when you want to cool off after a warm summer day in the city.
We were all introduced to the Executive Chef at Brother Jimmy’s Eva Pesantez who curates the decadent dishes from savory barbecue to the mouth-watering desserts. We even got the Brother Jimmy’s BBQ- More Than 100 Recipes cookbook in our swag bags! Of course Jason and I had Chef Eva sign ours. She was so sweet and it made the night that much more memorable. She came out with a delicious brownie sundae soon after. There was also an ice cream bar available for us to try. On a picnic-style table were samples of the new desserts including apple crumb pie, ice cream sandwiches by NYC’s own Melt Bakery, and cherry pie.
It was so great to try all these delicious desserts and I have to let you know my two favorites were the Apple Crumb Pie and the Melt Bakery ice cream sandwiches. I could eat them for days because they were so delicious!
I’m definitely making sure next time I go to Brother Jimmy’s I order dessert or at least save some room for that Cherry Rhubarb Pie Float.
