Thursday July 4th – Sunday July 7th – 4th of July Sale at Tanger
Tanger Outlets, 200 Tanger Mall Drive, Riverhead, NY 11901
While every town in the Hamptons has interesting places to shop, prices can be on higher end. If you’re looking to do some discount shopping and don’t mind fighting a crowd, head to the 4th of July Sale at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead. While you would find most of these stores in your local mall, if you have the time to tear yourself away from the beach (or it’s raining) you can score some serious deals from brands like C Wonder, Kate Spade, Coach and Tommy Hilfiger. Check the Tanger website (tangeroutlet.com/riverhead/coupons) for participating stores and dates as they vary by company. This place gets insanely busy- be prepared to troll the parking lot for 30 minutes looking for a space. You can download a map in advance and plot your shopping accordingly to save time.
Thursday July 4th – Sunday July 7th – Neptune’s – East Quogue
Neptune’s, 70 Dune Road, East Quogue, 11942
If you’re looking to party spring break style in your bikini all day long, head over to Neptune’s Beach Club on Dune Road. The party starts at noon, but as entry lines are long on regular weekends, try to be there by 11am to beat the rush. The former coast guard station overlooking the Atlantic Ocean features a restaurant as well as multiple bars and dancefloors (both indoor and outdoor), and each day this weekend features a different guest DJ. Parking at Neptune’s is $20, however on certain days a complimentary shuttle runs from nearby Beach Bar (a smaller parking fee may apply, call ahead for schedule: (631) 728-3100). Here’s the weekend DJ lineup: Thursday Roger Sanchez $30 cover, Friday Sik Duo $20 cover, Saturday Theo $20 cover. Cover was not confirmed yet for Sunday, but will be in the $10-$20 range. Any ladies with modeling aspirations should come party on Saturday, when Hypnotiq will be in the house looking for a new face for their upcoming ad campaign. Insider tip: make sure you bring enough cash as ATM fees are huge. Check out videos from their weekly parties on their website: neptunebeachclub.net/videos.

A few tips for making the most of your 4th of July weekend…
Heading to the beach is a no brainer. Most beaches are free to the public but do charge for parking, so be sure to carpool or pack lightly and just walk. Certain hotels offer complimentary shuttle service so ask when you check in. Arriving early is a must, as this is one of the busiest weekends of the year in the Hamptons.
Avoid long waits for tables and save on your dining budget by picking up takeout for lunch or dinner at one of the Hamptons’ many great seafood spots. Try Hampton Seafood Company in East Hampton (hamptonseafoodco.com), Tully’s in Hampton Bays (tullysseafood.com), or the Dock House in Sag Harbor (dockhouseny.com). Most restaurants will not be taking reservations but dining on off-hours (3pm-5pm) reduces wait time.
