A few weeks back I had the opportunity to take on a product review. This time, it was frozen meals– LYFE Kitchen meals to be exact! This would be the 2nd time I reviewed a frozen meal so I was a bit hesitant since I don’t eat them very often, but I’ll give anything a try. I also couldn’t say no when I heard Chef’s like Art Smith and John Mitchell were behind them! These meals definitely screamed my name too and have certainly raised the bar for frozen meals!

Here’s some background on LYFE KitchenLYFE Kitchen was founded on a simple idea: people should love their food—how it tastes, what it does for their health, and how it supports a more sustainable planet.  Every LYFE Kitchen dish, from Chicken Chile Verde with polenta & black beans to Oat Bran & Ricotta Pancakes with cinnamon, apples & maple glaze, is free of artificial ingredients and trans fat, low in sodium (but still big on flavor) and complete with environmentally-friendly packaging.  LYFE Kitchen meals are less than 500 calories and contain less than 500 mg of sodium in each entrée.  You  cook them in your microwave or oven in the  exclusive patent-pending paper pouch – similar to the classic French en papillote technique – and when opened, LYFE Kitchen meals are perfectly plated.

Now, for the fun stuff, everything you read above– it’s true! LYFE Kitchen meals are ideal for people who are the run or constantly working but are also looking for something quick and nutritious to eat. I was sent four different meals to try and my favorites out of all four were the Steel Cut Oatmeal and Chicken Chili Verde. I loved that oatmeal had quinoa in it and delicious fruit and the chicken with polenta and beans just blended great together, As I mentioned, they are super easy to make and come in an environmentally friendly, paper bag and all you have to do is simply microwave it for 5 minutes, cut the scissored-line and gently pour it out onto your plate and it should look like how it looks on the box (see above in oatmeal picture)! You can also find them at your local Shop-Rite if you want to give them a try!

Interested in trying them? Have you tried them before? Let us know what you think!

Happy Eating! 🙂
