Junoon, a famous NYC Indian restaurant, invited SCBD to check out their new venture, the Patiala Lounge! Situated on 24th, between 5th and 6th Ave, this restaurant is already famous for its calm, elegant
environment and excellent modern Indian food. The Patalia Lounge is Junoon’s new spot for hosting wonderful receptions and cocktail parties.
While at the event, we had the pleasure of trying several new signature drinks, crafted by their talented bartending staff. The highlight drink was definitely the Autumn Poet, “an aromatic fall concoction of tequila, Fernet Branca, Saint Germain, and a touch of maple syrup.” This wonderful drink served as a graceful intro to fall, reminiscent of apple picking, pumpkin pie, and a warm happy feeling.
However, the drinks were just a precursor for the excellent hors d’oeuvres. Food is what has put Junoon on the map, and their food was the highlight of the night. Our favorite special was the Aloo Bonda, a “potato fritter battered in chickpea flour served with a tamarind chutney.” This appetizer perfectly blended spice and sweet, exciting the palate, and leaving us wanting another.
