I’m a die hard coffee drinker- I have at least one cup every morning to start my day. But I also have an appreciation for a good cup of tea- especially in the evenings when I wind down and relax in front of the TV. It’s soothing and calming. Typically, I’m a Lipton tea drinker- been all of my life! But I also enjoy a delicious herbal tea- the fruity ones specifically. When Sara (SCBD founder) emailed her team asking who would like to participate in a review for Good Earth tea company, there was no hesitation on my part.
Good Earth Teas, Inc. (based out of Montvale, NJ) has been around for 40+ years, and they are known for their exotic flavors. They are made with no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. The teas are also kosher and gluten free. There are varieties to cater to all individuals- whether you favor green, black, chai, or herbal. But where it gets really fun, is picking from their fancy/fun flavors. Just to give you an idea- some of their flavors include Sweet Chai of Mine, Cocoa Tango, Pomegranate Burst, and Mango Me Crazy.
So which tea was I lucky to sample? I received a black tea called “Sweetly Twisted”. Its ingredients are: black tea, hibiscus, rosehip, lemon peel, chicory root, blackberry leaf, lemon oil, licorice root, and natural vanilla flavors. First, I have to note that the combination of these ingredients provided a pleasant aroma- it was almost perfume like without it being off-putting. The flavors worked well together- and it was incredibly light and smooth. The hibiscus and rosehip were pronounced and the citrus notes left a lingering taste on the palette. But what was also apparent was the flavor of a sweetener- when I examined the ingredients closer, Stevia is also included. Normally, I avoid sweeteners (Splenda, Equal, Sweet n’ Low) because of the after-taste that stays on the tongue. But I was pleasantly surprised that the inclusion of Stevia did not turn me off from enjoying my cup of tea.
So tea drinkers- I dare you to explore Good Earth Tea and find which flavor suits your personality. Are you “Sweetly Twisted” as I am? Again, I dare you to find out…
