#SCBDReview: Fab #Dinner [email protected] #NJ

If you are looking for a great new date night restaurant, Haven Riverfront Restaurant in Edgewater is the place to go. With a gorgeous view of NYC and ambiance, Haven creates an eccentric atmosphere that is not to miss. Upon entering, you will be greeted by a hostess who immediately offers you the option to check in your coats. When walking to your table you will notice the well designed interior and dim lighting, which set the scene for a perfect night out. Waiters were very friendly and paid very close attention to detail. Waters were filled constantly and we were always asked if we needed anything else. Our waiter was EXTREMELY helpful with the menu. He was not only able to provide specific recommendations, he was also able to share a background of where they get their meat and about the food preparations. They have a very nice cocktail menu, which includes a set of holiday drinks. For an appetizer I had the Pretzel Calamari, which consisted of the perfect crunch with salty flavor. The sauces that came with this dish were a Garlic Aioli and a Marinara. The Garlic Aioli was so good that I kept it to have for my main dish.

SCBD’s POV: I was so happy I was able to bring Jessica out with me to Haven Riverfront Restaurant in Edgewater, NJ for a post-interning dinner– a tradition I’ve started with all my interns who are local. I had heard such remarkable things about the restaurant from some colleagues, so I had very high expectations. Every expectation I had, they exceeded. First, as Jessica mentioned above, the drink menu was on point and very seasonal. I got a French inspired cocktail, Fleur de Lis, which was delicious. I drank it pretty quickly since it was so good! Since it was a media dinner, we were able to try different options on the menu. For an appetizer, I opted for the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare which was fab! I love tartare’s and this did not disappoint! I also got to try an oyster, which usually I’m very picky about, but was really impressed by the selection. Those were just a few that stuck out to me, but every dish I tasted did not lack any flavor. I think I’d recommend everything. For my main entree, I went with the Rosemary Leg of Lamb. That dish was phenomenal and I even brought leftovers home. I had a long commute home to the Jersey Shore that night but I couldn’t leave without sipping on a latte and trying the chocolate mousse dessert and trust me, I’m so happy I did.

I would highly recommend Haven Riverfront Restaurant to anyone whether you are coming from NYC across the river or traveling in NJ. The service is spectacular because the waiters are so knowledgeable. The chef is excellent and the food is worth every dollar. The cocktail menu is also excellent, seasonal and extensive. I know I’d definitely come back for happy hour with my friends who live in the area or even dinner. I really want to go back and try their brunch which is now offered every Saturday and Sunday from 11AM-3PM, I’m sure it’s fabulous!
