On Wednesday, March 12th, Pierre Michel Salon hosted a “Beauty & the Braid” event. Bloggers from all over the city were invited to attend the salon for an evening of cocktails, pampering, and braiding tutorials. I attended the event to represent SCBD and had a awesome time with the stylists and fellow bloggers!
I was warmly welcomed into the salon and introduced to my stylist right away. I had three braid options to choose from: a fishtail braid, a halo braid, or a waterfall braid. I chose the halo braid because I had a date later on that night and (as much as I love her) I didn’t want to look like Anna from Frozen.
Because I was born with thick, curly hair, I never learned how to braid. My stylist kindly walked me through the braiding process, then proceeded to teach me how to make the perfect halo braid. Although I don’t anticipate recreating this look myself anytime soon, it was still pretty cool to see how it was done. Plus, it came out great!
After my braid was completed, I headed over to the bar to try some complementary cocktails. First, I taste-tested some fortune cookie cocktail flavored ice cream from Tipsy Scoop. It was thick, creamy, and even gave me a little bit of a buzz! I was also able to sample a deliciously refreshing cocktail from byejoe.
As if the braiding tutorials and complementary cocktails weren’t enough, we each received a gift bag full of sample beauty products! Complete with shampoo, leave in conditioner, face moisturizer, a granola bar, and a 40% off coupon to the salon!
The stylists and atmosphere at Pierre Michel was absolutely wonderful. Although I’ve never been to the salon prior to the event, I am definitely going to book an appointment their for my next haircut!
