#SCBDReview: BirchBox Monthly Review: March

scbdreview

March included two sunscreen type products, which bummed me out because I couldn’t try it out on a summer day. For the most part this month was good.

For the first product, I used the Face Coola mineral sunscreen. I did not get to use it out on a beachy sunny day, but I did try it on my face to see how it felt and reacted to my sensitive skin. It went on very smooth and was light. Since it is tinted (and has an SPF of 30) it is a great alternative to a lotion and foundation, it is tinted enough to cover any light imperfections.

The second product was Gena Pedi Cure Foot Treatment Crème. This product was not as good as I thought it was going to be. It has been a long time since I got a pedicure, so the bottoms of my feet are a little beat up. So I decided to try this lotion on them and then put socks on after each application to help keep the moister inside. I used this three evenings, but they did not help the slightly dry skin on my feet. It did feel good at first, but once it dried my feet went back to the normal dry they were. So I would not recommend this product personally.

The third product was the theBalm How ‘Bout Them Apples? Cheek & Lip Cream. I am very happy with this product. I was nervous to try it at first, because it looks so bright in the container. But to my surprise, it turned out to be my favorite product this month. It looked red, but went on to be a really pretty light red tint. It tinted my lips to be so pretty and stayed on. I also put it on my cheeks, I dabbed some on and blended it in. It was so easy to use, lasted long, and was a great color choice for my fair skin! A great product!

The fourth product was the Vasanti Cosmetics BrightenUp! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator. I felt like this did brighten my skin! It is a great scrub; I used it in my shower. It is easy to use and it smells great too, it is a mild smell but refreshing. I would recommend this to use, but I would only use it maybe once a week or when you need a freshen-up.

The fifth and final one is the Strivectin-AR Advance Retinol Day Treatment. Again I did not use this during a sunny summer day, but I tried a little bit inside on my face to see how it was on thickness, smell, and if it is okay on my skin. I couldn’t feel it once it was on and it was not sticky. Some sunscreens are very sticky and smell strong, luckily this one was neither. It felt silky when it was on too. I would try this again once it is warmer out!

Finally, we also got a special treat from Ghirardelli Chocolates. It was an Intense Dark Cherry Tango Chocolate. It was delicious and smooth. The flavors blended together wonderfully and there was a little crunch. I love having a little brunch in my chocolate sometimes, and this was perfect! A must try if you like cheery and chocolate.

Until next month, this is my review. I hope you enjoy and this helps you try new products and open up to other companies!
