#SCBDReview: [email protected] Review for May featuring @jwPetCo, @loopiestoys, and @snikysnacks

For the past year, I have been the proud mama of a beautiful boxer named Chloe. She’s the most lovable, playful, and well behaved dog I have ever come in contact with (And I’m not just saying that because she’s my baby.) Like any pet owner, I’m always looking for ways to make sure that Chloe is happy, healthy, and entertained. That’s why I signed up for a monthly subscription to BarkBox, a care package made especially for our furry friends.

Similar to Birchbox, BarkBox sends toys, treats, and other carefully selected products based on your dog’s needs. To make the best of each package, BarkBox asks you to fill out a survey based on the size of your dog. Then you can sign up for specific plans: three months, six months, or one year packages. The boxes are $19 a month, but 10% of the proceeds go to help dogs in need!

Since March, Chloe has been receiving a BarkBox filled with all-natural dog treats and fun eco-friendly toys. This month, our box included the MegaBlast ball from JW Pet. This bright red bouncy ball is made from recyclable products in an eco-friendly, solar powered facility. It’s perfect for playing fetch or for those dogs who love to chew!

Chloe couldn’t wait to get her paws on Rozcoe, the courdory kitty from Loopies. (I’m lucky I was able to steal it away from her long enough to snap a picture!) She’s a huge fan of stuffed animals and loves to play tug-of-war, but many of her toys can withstand her strength and competitive spirit. Luckily, Rozcoe is made from sturdy material that will last through even the toughest game of tug-of-war.

Recently, we discovered that Chloe has a food allergy which prevents her from eating most dog foods. Anything made from beef, chicken, or other funky ingredients causes the skin on her ears to get dry and itchy. We’ve swapped out her regular dog food and replaced it with a hypoallergenic brand mixed with tuna fish. (Which, by the way, gave her a beautifully soft and shiny coat!) Unfortunately, this means that Chloe can’t indulge in most of the dog treats on the market.

Our package came with a bag of jerky from Nootie, but because of Chloe’s allergy, we won’t be able to try them out. (Our BFF Mugsy the blue nose pitbull will have to be the judge!) However, BarkBox came in clutch with Snicky Snacks. These organic treats are made from GMO-free ingredients such as molasses, eggs, cinnamon, and apples. Since they don’t contain any meat, Chloe can indulge without worrying about itchy ears!

Chloe loves all of her toys and treats from BarkBox, and your dog will too! If you’re interested in learning more about BarkBox or want to sign up for a monthly package, visit their website at BarkBox.com!
