Good morning and happy Friday! In case you didn’t know, today is National Donut Day! Their are quite a few places along the Jersey Shore to celebrate. So grab a coffee and your favorite flavored donut today at one of these spots and sit back and enjoy the shore:
DOCO is a tad off the beaten path to the shore but its totally worth it. Located in Farmingdale, Doco gives its customers fresh, hot donuts daily. You can pick your own topping or pick one they recommend. They also have their own “Kronuts” available to order!!! Also don’t miss out getting a cup of joe. They serve Jersey’s own TM Ward coffee that’s strong and delish!
I have yet to try these donuts myself but I am waiting for that day eagerly. Like Doco, Uncle Dood’s is a bit off the beaten path but I’ve heard its amazing. Each month they release new flavors and post it on their Facebook page. Krispy Treats this month looks great to me, they hand dip their donuts and make them fresh daily!
Ob-Co’s was the first donut shop I tried down here when I started SCBD and the first shop I wrote a post about. Unlike the other shops they prepare their batches daily and have a thicker donut. Still delicious and worth the drive. They are perfect to grab on your way to Seaside since they are off Fisher Blvd. in Toms River. I recommend you try both the cake donuts and iced donuts, delish!
Top That is the new to the scene and just opened a few months ago in Point Pleasant Beach. They have an ideal location right between the boardwalk and the inlet. They make their donuts fresh to order and have a menu where you can choose from a variety of flavors from The Springsteen (vanilla glaze with blue & red sprinkles) to The Hangover (maple glaze with crunchy bacon). They do a great job paying homage to the area. They also serve local coffee purveyor, Turnstile coffee!
Cheers my foodie friends to enjoying a day of donuts and the beautiful Jersey Shore!
