Being an avid runner, I’m always on the lookout for races to run in the area. It’s always fun running 5k’s and trying beat your own personal records. As fun as these races can be, I was really excited to read about the Insane Inflatable 5k coming to Atlantic City! Just reading the name of it, I knew it was something different than a typical 5k. The Insane Inflatable 5k is not just about jumping in bouncy houses though.
This is an extreme obstacle course race made out of just inflatable obstacles. It’s sure to bring out the kid in you, as well as give you a great workout! Even better, this race is not timed so you can just go out and have a blast! The race starts off with the Bounceway to Heaven, which involves climbing up the front and sliding down the back. I’ve ran a lot of races and none have ever had an awesome start like that! On their website, they have a list of all the obstacles you’ll encounter during the 3.1 mile race. It sure looks crazy and fun! They didn’t forget about the young bouncers either, as there is a kids course aimed at junior bouncers age 6-11.
The fun doesn’t stop after the race either! After you are done the race, there is a midway celebration with food/drinks, entertainment, midway games, merchandise, and sponsor booths. My favorite thing about the race though is that they are committed to raising funds and awareness to a local charity in each town that they visit.
For the Atlantic City race, the charity is the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. This is sure to be one of the most fun and craziest events you will do this summer! I’m so excited to be participating in this race myself and I hope that some of you will check it out! The race is Saturday, August 16th and will be held at the Bader Field in Atlantic City.
