If you know me, you know I’m a huge advocate for small businesses and local restaurants. But when I had the opportunity to check out my local Applebee’s summer menu I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve noticed Applebee’s branding has changing over the past year or so. I also learned on my visit that they are focusing more on serving fresh ingredients and freshly preparing each dish to order.
I must say I will give Applebee’s that is affordable to almost anyone at anytime. First I tried the Strwberry Lemonade Quencher. It was really good. Next, I decided to skip an appetizer and I got the one of the Take Two meal deals for $15.99 and tried the Shrimp Scampi Linguini and Grilled Vidalia Onion Sirloin. I’m always apprehensive to try steak at most chains now but I gave it a try. It has a delicious sweet Hawaiian inspired steak sauce that has a little kick to it. I also loved the pasta dish and would recommend it to any seafood lover. It wasn’t overpowered with garlic and had a balanced amount of linguini to shrimp.
Last, I ended my meal with their signature Mudslide to drink with their new Salted Caramel Pretzel Bites. I got a half order because I was getting full but they are soo good and addictive! I highly recommend trying them.
I definitely would recommend trying the new menus every season at your local Applebee’s. They are bringing new, fresh flavors to the chain game and they are totally worth a try. I also want to thank my local, Howell Applebee’s for their great hospitality. I really enjoyed my visit and can’t wait to come back for the next menu to give you the scoop.
