#SCBDReview: @BirchBox Monthly Review: July

This months was so fun, I was shocked at first to see the box came in a pretty blue box instead of the usual pink! It made me excited because I knew this would be a good box. They teamed up with Women’s Health to create a great summer box with motivating Power Up Challenges to take on!

I am going to start with the Power Up Challenges that was included within the box. These were 12 different cards in a book that each had a new challenge to face. I started right away and did the first two the first day! The first one was to ‘Write it Down’. Write down a log of workouts you complete and when and explain how you felt after doing the activity. I love logging my workouts to see what I did, but adding the way it made you feel is so motivating. It makes you think more than I am tired and sore, but instead you can bring out your true feelings such as how empowering a workout was or how strong your feel after. It is a good way to uplift your sore and tired body and put a positive spin on how amazing you feel after. That is only one example, I will be posting a separate post explaining all the Power Up’s and how I did them. Then the challenge is for you to take on these challenges and do them yourself! Look out soon for the post, once I finish these. I am going to do at least one a day, but may do more because of how great they are!

Now for the awesome products in July’s Box! The first one is a Gentle Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk by Klorane. I really liked this! I actually use Psst usually, I have tried others but never like how they either smell or work! This one works great, it smells pretty good too! It goes on nice and really adds volume more than any other’s I have used. It surprised me how fast and hard to sprays out, so at first I sprayed way too much. Even though I sprayed too much, you could not tell. Again with others, sometimes if you spray too much in one spot it gets really white, even in my light hair. So I recommend this product, it is great to get rid of oily hair and add volume!

The second product is a Body Radiance Lotion by Naobay. This was not a favorite of mine. It didn’t have a strong smell and went on okay. The smell was light and refreshing but there was something about it I did not enjoy much. It also went on like a liquid and felt a bit oily after. I love the ingredients though; it includes Avocado oil, olive oil, shea butter, and Aloe. As I said it is not a favorite of mine, but you may like it. Try it yourself.

The third product is a Color Contrast Eyeliner in Raina by Sumita. This eyeliner is great; the color is nice and bright. It stayed on pretty long too and went on fairly smooth. I had to push down a bit to get it to stay on my water line, but for the top of my eye it was smooth and easy to apply. It lasted pretty long, but not as long as I hoped for. It was a bright and vibrant color, some loose color when you apply it but this one did not. I did like this product and will use it up!

The fourth is a Detox Nutrient-Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser. This product was great, I loved the smell and it went on so easily. I used it in the shower. It took my makeup off and makes my face feel great. I will be trying the rest of this bottle, so far I love it and I love it is made with natural ingredients. It is for all skin types and can be used morning and night!

The fifth and final product is a Gingerade Shower Gel by 100% Pure. This was different than the usual shower gels I used. This one was very liquid, which usually they are thicker and more gel like. It smelled wonderful and went on easily to clean my body. If it was thicker, I would really like this product. Give it a try, but I know I will not be using it unless they create a thicker one!

Finally as an added bonus, we also got an invitation to have a year free of Women’s Health Magazine! I am so excited to get this and read tips and get new exercises from it!
