Two weekends ago, I had the opportunity to attend Spoon University’s first ever Brain Food Conference. The conference was long foodie filled day of inspirational keynote speakers and discussions.
The morning started off with breakfast sponsored by Doughnut Plant NYC, Oatworks and more. There was also Baked By Melissa cupcakes we’d enjoy with lunch. The keynote speaker of the day was Melissa of Baked By Melissa. It was definitely inspiring to hear her story and how she fought so hard for her dream.
Next, there was a campfire discussion with well-known restaurant owners, followed by up and coming brands and how they are marketing themselves. It was very inspiring seeing so many college kids with their own blogs and Spoon chapters. I also met a few people who went to culinary school which definitely made want to go more. After the discussions, a delicious lunch sponsored by Sweet Green, Sir Kensington’s, and Applegate and more followed. It was a perfectly balanced meal and energized me for the rest of the day. Of course, cupcakes by Baked By Melissa were dessert!
After lunch there was a panel discussion with writers and founder of top pubs and shows like Munchies, The Infatuation & more. It was very intuitive to hear their point of views and the state of blogging now since I experience it firsthand myself. A few more discussions followed and the day ended with raffle winners and Rekorderlig Cider. It was def a long Saturday but so worth it. I was extremely honored to attend and can’t wait to see what Spoon U does next!
