For Ten Years Foodies, Food Enthusiasts, and anyone who loves food has been coming to the NYC Vendy Awards. People travel from all over to taste the best of the best Food Trucks from NYC. This year I had the amazing opportunity to attend the 10th Annual Vendy Awards which took place on Governors Island. The award categories were made up of the top prize, The Vendy Cup, People Taste, Rookie of the Year, Best Market Vendor, Best Dessert and the Masters Cup. I spent the afternoon making it around to each and every one of the truck some similar while others had foods that I had never even heard of before. It seems as though as I went from truck to truck the food kept getting better and better. Despite the rain the afternoon was truly a great experience listening to live music, sipping on some cocktails, and enjoying the best of the best food trucks in NYC. Below is the list of Trucks that took home prizes
Best Market Vendor: Zhà Pan Asian best market vendor for its Asian takes on Italian arancini like Thai curry and Korean fried rice balls.
Best Dessert went to experimental ice cream pop-up Ice & Vice
Rookie of the Year went to the Snowday Truck, which just opened a brick and mortar location in the East Village selling its shaved frozen cream.
People’s Choice Award: Last year’s Rookie of the Year, Nuchas Empanadas took home the People’s Choice Award
Vendy Cup Cinnamon Snail took home the big prize of the day, the Vendy Cup.
