There are a lot of Italian eateries in New York but nothing compares to the authenticity of Iavarone Brothers foods and products. I had the opportunity to check out Iavarone Brothers for a tour, some history and to sample some tasty products.
Iavarone Brothers, a family tradition now turned into a fourth generation brand, is well known to provide authentic Italian delicacies for the gourmet palate in New York. Its detailed attention to customer service and quality goods has earned them high ratings from demanding food critics, including Zagat’s, which has rated it as one of Long Island’s best markets for the last three years.
“Our mission is to offer the finest quality foods and products to our customers,” says Pat. “We’ve been known for our high standards of excellence for the past 80 years.”
What makes this Italian specialty market unique? Most items are freshly prepared on the premises in Iavarone Brothers’ local bakery and kitchens. Fresh pasta is made under their own label, Villa
Di Pasta, and can be purchased only in Iavarone Brothers’ stores. Every item(you find available at IBF) is handpicked so that in each category what is available is what they believe to be the best-tasting food of its kind.
After learning about the history from co-owner John I was able to walk around the store of try some fresh food for myself. I had the eggplant parm with was delicious topped with some of their homemade sauce. The desserts were out of this world. I had a mini Nappolian as well as a rainbow cookie. I devoured it. Both desserts were so moist i finished them before john could even turn around. Customers were crowding into the store like crazy to get IBF products. You can tell people are passionate about the brand when they are willing to drive miles just to get Iavarone. After sampling some food i can see why customers would travel so far. Not only was their food beyond fresh and delicious to see the compassion and dedication this family has for their business is unbelievable. They know many customers by name and were saying hello to everyone as they walked by. It was as if everyone was family as soon as they walked through those doors.
