#SCBDReview: Get Your Bowl & Juice Fix at Kali-O’s Juice Box!

Whether you are trying to get your Acai or Pitaya bowl fix or just a fresh juice on the run. If you plan on being in the Point Pleasant, Ortley, or Lavalette area make sure Kali-O’s Juice Box is on your destination list. I was invited by one of the owners Alli to come and check it out for myself. The store is right across from the famous, Slingin Ink tattoo shop. Kali-O’s is owned by Alli and her sister Kerri. They’ve worked in the industry their whole lives and were inspired to open a neighborhood juice bar so people could access healthy options in the area.

The space is super cute, one side of the counter to order and the other to pick up. If you choose to eat in, there are a few places to sit if you plan on staying and have your food there. The menu is pretty easy to navigate, they have a choice of juices, bowls, and then sides. Everything is customizable in case you don’t want to have something that is already on the menu. I tried the Kitchen Sink bowl with Pitaya as a base. It was my first time having Pitaya. Pitaya is a tropical tasting fruit that’s imported and you either love it or hate it! I automatically loved it of course. Some places have these huge bowls but I loved that Kali-O’s had a good size that filled you up.  My juice was great, I loved it. I got the Purple Citrus which had Grapefruit, Lime and  beets in it! I love beets now so that had me hooked!

If you plan on stopping by the hours are 8-5 daily except Tuesday. Make sure you tell them SCBD sent you when you come in! I know i’ll be popping in as much as I can since I’m usually in that area!

Here’s to staying healthy and trying new things!
