#SCBDFitness: Going back to the barre…




Let me be honest with you, it takes a lot for me to find a workout I love. And I’m not obsessed with fitness. I know in order to stay healthy working out is necessary so I finally found a workout that I love. Barre. I’ve teamed up with a local Pure Barre studio in Red Bank to tell you about my experience and also share some of their monthly deals with you all! Who knows, maybe I’ll see you in a class sometime?

In case you didn’t  know growing up I always took dance classes. So when I tried barre a few years back at Barre3 I knew I loved it and found my studio at Pure Barre in Red Bank. Not only do I feel great after every class but I am always learning more about the barre technique and what my body can handle. 

I’m currently addicted and committed to my 6 AM workouts on Tuesday’s. It so nice  wake up and to see the sunrise on the way to class. It really makes me so thankful to be alive and mentally gets me ready to work out.

As taken from the Pure Barre website, here’s some of the information behind the technique:

In just 55 minutes you will achieve a full-body workout concentrating on the areas women struggle with the most: hips, thighs, seat, abdominals and arms. The Pure Barre technique is low-impact, protecting your joints by avoiding any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscles without bulk. The technique works to defy gravity by tapering everything in and lifting it up!

The concentration involved while taking Pure Barre allows you to block “life” out for the hour, creating the mental benefits similarly obtained by the practice of yoga or meditation. A transformed body and a clear head in just one hour—it doesn’t get much better than this.
